The Battle of Leatherwood took place 10,19, 1862. 40 members of the Harlan County Battalion attacked the forces of 13th Kentucky Cavalry encamped at the mouth of Leatherwood Creek aproximately16 miles south of Hazard on the North Fork of the Kentucky River. Battle will be reenacted on Saturday and Sunday. Living history camp will be set up Friday, Saturday and Sunday with field hopital and medical staff.
